nice looking bow Andy. Canopy I traded a shed antler  for that stave and got a great trade for sure.

Perry congrats on your bow. That bring us up to 1/3 done with the swap.

I got my handle and fade drawn on the bow. I will get the limbs drawn and hopefully cut.

Last night I warmed up the lower limb to straighten out some of the twist and add a little curve.  Tickets to the US vs Brazil tonight, so upper limb will probably have to wait until Thursday.

WOW the bows are looking better and better.

Dino - thanks for posting pics of the bow you got.  I am not smart enuff to get photos up on the interweb.

Winding Road is backed with brown paper and draws about 40# at 28+.  It is osage harvested in SE Kansas about 7 years ago.

BTW the whoopeedoo on the lower limb sure makes it look hingy.  Hope it survives.

va, I sympathize with you, but it's nice to know I'm not the only one who has trouble with those darn pictures. Oh well, I'm only 63. By the time I grow up I should have it figured out.

canopy that is looking good. I got mine laid out. I has a 4" handle and is 1.5" wide from the fades to about 10" from the tips then tapering to .5" at the tips, and about 66" long. I should be able to get the wood removed and get pics up tomorrow.

I finally got time to post some pics of my fine new bow made by D. It is a boo backed Ipe with osage belly and power lam. Osage and cocobolo riser with deer antler tips and cocbolo under lays. I must say I really like this bow and believe I will try making one like it in the near future. It is 50# @ 28", whisper quiet, and very fast. My second group I shot was so tight that I ripped a feather off one arrow. Thanks a lot D, I am very pleased. This is my first year for the swap and look forward to next year. Thanks Guys.

Dang I wish I could write better on bows.  I shoot right right handed but I write left handed and if you've ever watched a lefty write we do some weird/stupid thing with our arms like we try to turn everything up side down and it makes lebeling aggrivating. lolol  Anyway I'm tickeled to death that you like it Perry.  This is my first year in the swap also and I have had a blast.  I hope the grip fits you I was worried it might be a little too skinny but I wanted that X withe the coco and osage in the throat of the grip.  That was my favorite part of the bow.  I really hope it does well for you.

Wow some very fine bows being made.

If yall get them in the mail just let me know for sure when you put it in the mail.

I cheated a bit tonight and used my table saw to remove a lot of wood. I will get the draw knife out and get it too my line and thinned to floor tiller.

Smarter, not harder, Kelly.  When I do a board bow, I use my radial arm saw to take down the limb thickness ad cut in the fades.  A 10" sawblade gives a near perfect fade...

We are getting to see some very good talent here and some great looking bows. There is lots of inspiration in this thread.
