Well, I made the mistake of calling home from work today, where I found out that there was a long white tube waiting for me. So much for work! I wanted to get home! Of course, I was asked if I could stay a bit late today.  :banghead:  I managed to finish the overtime work in 15 minutes and I was off!
There on the dining room table was the tube and in it I found a beautiful, snakey osage bow made for me by David Flanrey. It has copperhead skins and zebra wood tips and a cane? rattan? wrapped grip. It's 64" tip to tip and draws 47# at 28".
David also included a nicely patterned bow sock and a great hand made arrow with a knapped Missouri burlington stone point, turkey fletching, copperhead cresting and deer sinew hafting.

I'll post a money shot as soon as I can get someone to take a picture for me.
Needless to say, I have been walking on a cloud all afternoon. As soon as I'm done here, I'm going to shoot a bunch of arrows.
Thank you again David.
Dave.

Beautiful and she shoots a mean arrow! Every time I hit off centre, The arrow would turn the target. It's not light.

Glad you like it Wood Carver.  I really enjoyed making it.  My wife made the sock.  I can't sew.  :bigsmyl:

Some slick lookin bows...very nice. I've got one question on installing sleeves, I've got mine pretty much ready to glue on  but not real sure how tight the fit needs to be. I've got one ready to glue but it's a pretty snug fit and didn't wont to not have enough glue in the joint. I thought I had one problem spot on the back being a bit high on one side but it fixed itself while rounding the edge with emory cloth.

Texan, I've only done one so far, but I made mine that it slid down onto the wood fairly snug, then roughed up the inside of the sleeve and put some fine grooves in the wood to give the glue something to grab onto, that gave it a little more play, but not loose.  Mine turned out quite well IMO....Dan

Well it's hot and had to take a tea break... Limb came out good no more wiggle.

Got the calipers out to set the depth from the backside.... Looked like a good use for some calipers anyway.

Hi all. I finally got someone to take a full draw picture of me and my new bow.
Sorry about the fuzzy image.
David, I love this bow!  :wavey:  She shoots with authority and hits where I'm looking. I'll call her Copperhead - I know - not very original, but that's what I think of when I see the bow!  :archer:

The tiller might appear a bit off in the picture, but that's because I canted the bow way over to avoid damaging the tip against the ceiling. Don't ask how I learned to always do that!  :o
Dave.
