I put about 40 arrows through it as it is and she is silent. I do feel a bit of hand shock. I will shoot it a bit more this week and see where it is at. I will look at that top limb and may take a few scraps off it yet.

Kelly, from the last picture it looks like both limbs are stiff from mid limb to tips. I would work on the limbs from mid limb to 6" from tips. More pics unbraced and straight on pic of tiller would help. Looks like you'll have a shooter!

Finally had time to get out and finish my trade bow.  Its a 62 inch R/D longbow off the now world famous KennyM design.  It has five lams of Bamboo and glass.  With a action wood riser.  I dressed her up a little with some fancy  tips and a leather wrap.  The bow is supposed to be a two piece but I cant pull it apart.  So if the recipient want to try and pull it apart then feel free.   The riser is reinforced with phenolic but its offset so that you cant see it in the window and to add rigidity to the riser.  The lams are tonkin cane stained green.  I even went all out on the string and ordered a SBD high perfomance string.  Hope you enjoy its been a pleasure.

Bow will ship on thursday to ..........................................   !!!

Thanks for the kind words fellas.  The tips are white glass and a acrylic pen turning square from wood crafters store.  They seemed hard enough and haven't seen any wear on them or the string from shooting.  My local store here had just about every color imaginable.   They were really easy to work with but the only drawback was having to sand to 600 (wet) to remove the final scratches.  Only took an extra 10 minutes so it was worth the time.

Dino,
The picture only post is still open.

Everyone who has not emailed or sent me a pm with the pictures or a link to the pictures please do that ASAP.

Out of respect for the person who built the bow you received , as soon as you can please pm me with the pictures of the bow and hopefully a picture at full draw. You can also email me the pictures to [email protected] . Also feel free to post you own pictured and try to follow the format as closely as possible.

Finished up my trade bow: 62" 54 @ 28 w/ 14 strand B-40 string and L/R arrow rests. Pure osage hunting bow with beeswax finish and minimal frills...

Well maybe one little "frill"...

This bow made mostly universal because my recipient is on the probation list and has not shown up here for some time. Who knows where it might go...

Very nice Shaun.  Love the fact that it's universal...  and the "frill" is pretty cool.

I have my HHB stave to floor tiller, and the difference in natural reflex between the tips is about 5 inches:

There is a bit of deflex coming out of the handle on the right side, and I am not really sure the best way of going about evening it out.  I understand HHB responds well to heat, but short of making a form to bend it over and heat up, I could use some advice as to how to proceed.
I initially thought I'd just let it be as it came from the tree, but the difference is making it much harder for me to determine an even bend.

It is 64" ttt, 1.5" wide until 8" from tips, and came from a 3.5" sapling, so is crowned a bit.  Here is the string alignment:

I've pulled it on the tree with the long string to around 4" tip travel, but I can not be sure both tips are moving the same amount.

Nice bows Shawn, Shaun, and Kelly...

Mike
