Glad you like it Kevin. I was already worried if something went wrong with the shipping, because it took so long.

andy that bow had to travel almost completely around the world to get from you in switzerland to him up in AK. Wow that is an adventure in all to its self.

Ok, family just got home from their trip, so I have someone to take pictures!

First, the hero pic:

I was putting all 5 arrows in my 9" paper plate with this thing at 20 yards.  I haven't tried to tune, but it seems to like the ones I normally shoot I guess.  Quiet as can be, it shoots quite flat and ultra smooth.  Kevin, thanks a ton!  I had no intention of switching to a new bow this close to the season, but I'm seriously considering it after shooting it tonight.  A few untuned arrows for a picture turned into 30 minutes of "just one more flight..."

guys,

as i said i am ready to send, but in turkey this weekend and couple days of next week there is big religious holiday (we call it bayram). similar to your christmas time. everything goes wild. so i did not want to risk of missing it in those madness of postal service. when bayram is over, mid of next week, i will be sending it.

plus, as a compensation, i will be add 2 river cane arrows in to package, without warheads. (do not want it to be stopped on custom just because of those warheads)

here they are:

i am now, filling both ends with marine adhesive which is honey color at the beginning and when is it drying, it produces bubbles and became very massive.

like this

here they are finished (without warheads  :)  )

zoom in

btw: on my bow building thing, i like to use natural staff like hemps, plant fibers etc.

best.
these are not the droids you are looking for.

And the money shot:

I've gotten to put a few arras thru her, she really hammers them home!  Thanks for a sweet shooter Mike!

Can you give some background on her? Wood type, etc.  And is this a linen string?  You did a very nice job on the endless loop!  If i get to go hunting this season, she's going with me

Sorry Kevin, I forgot to put a couple of things in the tube for you, including a kind of spec sheet.
It's a hackberry belly split, silk backed, irish linen string.  I used the same linen throughout, the purple is dyed.  It is finished with 2 coats of tru oil and 2 coats wipe on poly.
That one came so late due to it being my 5th attempt to make weight/not break.  As you have noticed, it did take some set, but I understand hackberry will do that.  It was my first go with that wood.

Funny story- I have a heavy arrow that I made before I knew anything about arrows, out of solid fiberglass rod.  When I say heavy, I mean 1400 grains heavy.  This is the first bow I have been able to shoot that arrow from.  Heh, I should have sent that along with it.

I am happy to see it in your hands finally.

And big thanks to Kelly and Sticks for working this trade out, and letting me get it right.

Mike

Well hackberry was one of my guesses, and one of my favorites:)

I have some billets i hope to belly split and splice, and they have nice thick rings like this one did.  Lookin forward to those.

I believe you about the 1400 grain arrow, she really thumps.  Though i don't think i'll be hunting moose or grizzly any time soon   ;)

This is my first bow trade, and i will say I'm a happy camper   :D

Thanks Mike
