Pat, It is very close to the juniper but seems a little more brittle and definietly more arromatic and richer color. Scrapes about the same and has the same type of knot issues. I backed with sinew and the carp skin due to reports of it blowing without backing. Will definetly try it again. The carp skins on that one were Buffalo carp and were a real pain in the tail. They are more of a layered skin and kept wanting to seperate. Also the pattern is much larger and not as defined as the grass carp.Doubt I will use buffalo carp again.
The stave was from a 5" tree from my sisters place in Texas. I would be curious to try the top side of a brack like I do with juniper and see how they compare.

Ok which line do you think Keenan or should I go even more shallow?

The red is pretty much parallel to the overlay you had on there.

Cuban, That looks like it will work You just want to make sure your string presure at full draw isn't past the base wood, or you will have a fulcrum point on the horn overlay.

Keenan,

I was told if you use the larger dead limbs off ERC that you can make a bow right away. It has to be a dead one with no green on it at all. I have not tried it yet but plan on getting a limb soon and trying.

Ok so I am pretty much ready to finish this claim with USPS but all I need know is an estimate for how much it would cost to repair.  Is there anyone who could help me out who does this professionally with a quote?  I mean I know we are ALL professionals here!      :knothead:    But I need some one who has a business for it to be legit.  All I would need is a picture of the estimate for now and maybe a copy sent through the mail if they ask me to bring it in to the Post Office.   It looks like 3-4 hours of labor + materials.  Keenan told me 65 an hour, but I need it in writing.

Any help would be appreciated.

friends,

unfotunatly i have bad news for you.
today i went to postal office to ship the bow away but officers told me that my pack can not be send due to it is too long, which is nearly 180cm.
only one company accepted to send it but they said it will be considered as a trade stuff and will be way too expensive.

so, as a result, pack is here waiting, to be send but, i thikn this will never happen. kelly is looking for a some sort of solution but right now it seems like it is impossible.

sorry to give you bad news but this will be learning from experience, then i will be joining next year with take down.

best for now.

I will 2X Roy, $20 towards for the shipping.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

The costs that inksoup mentions are what would prevent any of us over here as well from going in a trade with you guys. Off the top of my head minimum would be $150 plus to $200 plus for shipping. kills a good idea.
