Wood Carver that looks like it might be a beautiful piece of walnut. Looks like there is some nice figure in that riser.

I think I am going for a hickory backed birch bow, for my first effort. Tried a birch backed birch last year and the back ave way, makes me think the tension strength of this board isn't the best. So a hickory backing may make this wood work. I have had one shooter out of this lump of wood, that ended up breaking from poor tillering and careless stringing. I feel that the hickory will help make a really good bow. And if this one doesn't work out I still have a bunch of cherry staves to work with  :)

James, Kenny, Trux and I think a few others, you all are killing me! I think I am going to ship my nearly finished bow sometime around July 7th that way that way ******* is just happy to finally get their bow and the amazing bows you all have built are no longer in their dreams.

Well I may be joking but I am hoping to ship out in the AM and I am seeing some of the most beautiful bows I have seen here.

LH riser is IPE & Persimmon with A hickory I beam accented with white glass, limbs are bamboo

RH riser is IPE & maple with white accents and Maple limbs.

Allright here is my problem...the more bows I look at, the less attractive my own seem to me. Each one raises the bar a tiny little bit causing me to rethink...redo...etc etc etc.  The longer I wait the worse I feel so I guess I better get after it to quiet the demons.

Mr. Morris...that bow is absolutely AMAZING....whoever gets it should be grinnin like a fool.  Outstanding work buddy.

Love the bows that are being built. The great thing about the swap is all the variety from the simplistic beauties to the elaborate veneers.

Awesome work guys. Seeing that good looking box call reminds me that I need to get to finishing some calls myself. Spring is fast approaching.

Could we please quit posting the picture of that call   ;)   . I made my brother in law one in the same design out of walnut and osage...... and he lost it out of his pack, it was one of those ones you reeeeeeally wanted to keep for yourself.

Some really nice looking bows coming out, I got mine tillered out and ready for a little massage before adding sinew, dang and then I have to wait and watch everyone else roll out some beauties.

Ralph, don't put yourself down, your woodworking skills are second to none. Your bow and turkey call will make someone very happy. I can see you selling your work.
James, I like the closeups. Remember I'm right handed.  :bigsmyl:
