OK I have a request, I need some opinions. I have two staves picked out. Being the non conformist I am, I have decided to not use an osage stave and go with either white oak or mulberry. The white oak is a perfectly straight swamp oak, possibly the best wood locally with sinew backing or a red mulberry, I left an intermediate ring on the back and this stave has about 4inches of natural back set, it also will have sinew backing.

If you opened up a package the mail delivered which would you be the most excited to see?

I'd have to say Mulberry. White oak is very strong but takes alot of set (from what I have heard only). Mulberry would get me excited though.

Hummmm... what do you think ******* a mostly selfbow shooter from what I gather would like better. A nice solid osage limbs under clear glass with a cocobolo riser to make em feel at home or a nice dark bolovian rosewood pattern ? Hummm...

The answer is always osage. No matter what the question is about woods.

...Nope the mood passed already...

And yup...the answer is "OSAGE"

Here was the question "What is as scarce as hens teeth in the Big Sky State also known as Montana?"

I have a few slats courtesy of Alan...maybe they will appear under the bamboo for this swap. The choices are osage or ipe...gonna try one of each when it get warms enough to glue up.

I know you guys are so lucky.  Someday I am going to try and make it to mojam.  Pretty sure it would be fun.  I spend most of my traveling right now visiting fam in Minnesota, Colorado, or Arizona...and of course the occasional bowling tournaments around the country (Las Vegas Hi Roller tournament this year) I almost feel like I have to make it down to Missouri as if its a MISSION...with a case or two of Raspberry Shock Top in order to enlighten you uncultured swine lmao...I

Heres some pics of my swap bow in progress

Sinew backed yew. I put a good thick run of whitetail sinew on her last night

used a piece of thin rawhide to clamp it into reflex and sinewed over it

Jeeze. didnt check the site for two days and there goes my lunch break. Good to see we picked up where we left off last year. The enthusiasm is awesome to see

And as far as mojam goes i wouldnt bother. Everything cost a fortune the people are rude and theres nowhere to cool off from the heat. I would just let us simpletons from the show me state suffer through it;-)
