Thanks for coments. It is a nice shooter that does not beat your hand to death. No cracked bat feeling from her at all. She is just a basic little bow that I am going to hate to put in the mail.

Yeah, but someone else is going to love you putting it in the mail...

Nice bow Pete. Well done!
I got my trade bow down to 50# at the target draw length, put 50 arrows through her today and have added the first coat of Tru-Oil.
This bow shoots very well. There is still a slight thump but not much. She was shooting right where I was looking from 16 to 17 yds. I'm very pleased with the way she's has turned out. After being braced for a while and shooting the 50 arrows she still layed pretty flat when unbraced. With the tips on the ground there is more than 1" of air under the back of the handle. The limbs are slightly gull winged but not bad at all.
Make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes!

Pete she is a looker now, I can't wait to see her all gussied up.

I got word that 2 more bows are in the mail so that is 4 total.

so with 90 bowyers waiting on bow there is a 4% chance that one of them is coming to a doorstep near you.  :)

Wow! the bows are really flying out of the shops. Pete, that hop hornbeam is looking great. I'm planning to cut a tree down this spring. There are a few straight ones growing at a friends' place.Mine is ready for finishing, but with so much time left, I might build another and ship the best.

Kelly I love the percentage updates.  It really brings my hopes crashing down to earth. lolol

Sweet looking bows everybody.  This is the first year I've been in the swap and besides the headaches I've had getting one glued up good, I'm really enjoying it.  I love to see the craftsmanship that is flowing out of everybody

Finally got off early enough to work on my trade bow. This Yew stave has some natural deflex and I'm wondering if the dry heat I used is going to let me keep it at least straight? I am 45@23 right now and wondering if I should sinew the back before I go any farther? What do you think?

after excercising to the 45@23 mark and rested for 10 minutes..

Good grief! Just got back home from being gone for a week. I think it's going to take me a few days to go through this thread. I guess I better get a coupke bows started. You all are making me feel very BEHIND!!!!!!!!

Here's a preview of the curves going into this hackberry bow for *********. Boiled the tips & clamped overnight on each side. One side is very good the other went back to steam today to get better alignment. This is 66'' TTT and it may end up 64-65 NTN. Going to get it bending some more then heat treat the belly.
