What's the best way to season elm?  Bark on or off?  Would a hot box be helpful or harmful?

If you cut it during the growing season just peel the bark and seal the back. If not either way will work. Less chance of bugs getting in if you strip the bark off. A hot box can be helpful although inside your house should be pretty dry if you use AC/heat.Reduce it to almost bow size and it will dry quicker.
