Guys I am so not a bowyer so please bear with me.I have had this DH Howatt Hunter since 1976 58" 55@28" my go to for many years.I retired it in 2001 when I went to a Bob Lee.It was getting a little heavy for me so I sent it off a couple of years ago for some wgt. reduction and he reduced it 4/5 pounds and I shot it a couple of times and hung it back up.Just recentily I wanted to hunt with it again and it shot O.K. but looks like the tiller or something may be off while handling it.Please look at the pics and see if you agree and what can be done with it.Thanks for your help. Kip

I'm no expert in such things but if it were me I would post a couple pics of the bow drawn maybe halfway or more.
I would also shoot it from about 3/4 draw, or so, and see how it 'feel's. If you get vibration then something might be wrong. If no vibration then I'd shoot it with greater and greater draw until at full draw. Use lighter arrows at mid-draw. Something like that.

If you have a floor with tile in squares, lay it on there with the string lined up with a tile joint and sanp a pic. It will show much.
The top limb looks a little limber in the midlimb area.
Steve has the right idea too.

Hi Kip-
Your lower limb looks a little strong but this may be the way Howats are built. I don't have any experience with them.A full draw picture would help in diagnosing any trouble spots.
If the bow shoots well with no excessive vibrations and the limbs are straight I wouldn't worry about it. Keep an eye on it and see if anything changes.

It might be my eyes are looking at this with my phone but that upper limb looks weak about 6 inches out of the fades.

take a ruler and measure from the fades to the string both the top and bottom, see how close they are to being the same, 1/4 or less isnt too bad, but I see the bottom stiffer than the top in your pictures also...

Took some measurements Brace hgt. 7 7/8" top limb at fade outs 7 1/4" bottom limb 6 3/4" seems like a big difference to me.Does any one think it was the wgt. reduction that cause this and can it befixed. Thanks Kip

I would suspect the weight reduction. Should be able to be fixed. Sand the stiff limb's belly until it matches the other one.
