Bowyers Bench - Shave Horse
« on: February 20, 2012, 09:00:00 PM »
Thought I would post some pictures of the 2 bowyers benches I made using the plans below.  I am going to be teaching some Osage bow building classes this summer.  These should really help.

Enjoy!

Cody, that is very similar to the shaving horse I built years ago. I think I got the plans from PA Magazine. I've put a lot of shavings under that old work horse.
Let me suggest one improvement...add a screen door spring to the treddle. It will keep the knucklehead in the open position for easy access.

Thanks Pat I'm going to have to give that a try.

Grey thanks for posting the Bowyers Journal page.  I have stopped posting it every time I post this article as the plans themselves say "fall 2005 The Bowyers Journal" on every page.  To me that is good enough.

Thanks again for posting it though.  :)

BTW guys it was Grey's bench that inspired me to make these two.  Thanks Grey!

Had one just like it as the dude who wrote those plans for the Bowyer Journal is the one who mentored me making bows.

Can someone send me link to the plans? For some reason I can not see them.
