First Limb Glue-Up
« on: February 21, 2012, 11:19:00 AM »
Glued up my first ever limb and riser last night. (Takedown Bingham Kit)

Had the luxery of going over Frank's (furtaker) house to help with / watch a longbow limb and a one piece get glued up.

I tried this by myself last night, and boy... Murphy was at full throttle last night!

Fighting boogers in my glue after mixing all night. Will that affect my limb at all. Appearance or functionality? I'll be heading over after work to check it out. Hope any residual boogers I didn't get out mess with the limb!

Then I pumped the hose up to pressure, in 5 or 10 psi increments about 1 minute apart, and the hose stem prung a leak. All 60 psi would deflate out of the hose within 30 seconds! What the heck?! A scramble to get plumbers tape on the stem fixed the initial leak. Checking throughout the 5 hour bake, the pressure held in the hose...

Hope all turned out well...

May run home at lunch today.. the anticipation is killing me!

How did you get boogers in your glue. Did you test your hose in a bucket of water before glue up. ALWAYS a good idea. Hope it works out. Don

boogers in the glue after mixing all night. What does that mean and what kind of glue were you mixing? I sure hope that works out alright for you.
