IF YOU COULD BUILD ONLY ONE BOW ???
« on: February 23, 2008, 02:17:00 PM »
I want to hear from all you bowyers out there!!! If you could only build one bow to hunt with, to stand the test of time, for strength, durability, speed, whatever, what would it be ? Be specific on bow type, materials, length, poundage and why. This should be interesting!!!! Thanks, John

it would be my to-go bow.
D/R glaslam longbow 62" long
49#@30"
185fps with 540 grain if you pull it 30",which is my drawlenght.
smooth like a peace of butter that is stored behind a southside window during summer.
limps are yew and the riser is bocote.
its fast, stable, easy and fun to shot.

I would build a Shrew, Black Widow, Sleybow, or Thunderhorn. Any one would do; I'm not picky.

I would build a short static limb recurve that was smooth to 31"s with no pinch. I have one but did not build it. RER Arroyo. Shawn

A nice take down 58-60"  R/D LB 55@ 28, bocote riser(cut slightly past center),nice locator grip, zebrawood limb veneers, actionboo cores...stained a medium brown, possibly to be backed with copperhead skins. Easy to shoot, easy to tune, and I could take it with me anywhere I was going, and strong enough to hunt almost anything I wanted to.
