snakeskin over tung oil
« on: April 08, 2012, 08:18:00 PM »
finished an osage bow with tung oil, now I have 2 copperhead skins. Anyone have any thoughts on gluing snakeskin over tung oil, then finishing with tru oil?

If the tung oil is totally cured out it should be OK. I would give the bow a good rubdown with steel wool or a good sanding first. You could also shellac the bow. Shellac sticks to almost everything and Tru-Oil will stick to shellac.
