Reducing draw weight (glass limbs)
« on: April 15, 2012, 10:21:00 AM »
We have too many newcomer at my archery club so we are short of low weight bows.
We have some 40+ solid fiberglass bows and Im thinking about reducing draw weight.
I reduce draw weight on a laminates bow by reducing preload only, did anyone have experience on solid glass bows?
Thanks
Martin

You need to sand the fiberglass down a touch or narrow up the limbs.  Or increase the pad angle if they are adjustable.
God gave you hands, use them

I reduced the weight on an old pearson solid glass bow from 50 to 35lb by sanding the belly of the bow. Take your time and check the tiller/weight often. Not really hard to do.
