paints?
« on: April 26, 2012, 06:40:00 PM »
Im new to bow making, have turned out 3 hickory bows of different designs. just finished one using dimensions from Paul Comstocks  "The Bent Stick". 1 3/4 wide flat bow that I want to paint Indian Style designs on. My question is what kind of paints should I use? Any help appreciated

You could use natural paints like the natives used. I would use acrylic water based craft paint. You can finish over with minwax poly
Striker stinger 58" 55# @ 28
any wood bow I pick off the rack.

Craft paint from Walmart works well and lots of colors.
