Bow got damaged
« on: February 24, 2008, 05:48:00 PM »
I have a Martin Dreamcatcher and I dinged it on something. I'm not even sure how it happened. Anyway,it chipped a small area about  half the size of an M&M  at the top of the riser on the left edge if you were holding the bow to shoot it. Can you bow makers tell me anything I could do to keep the finish from continuing from flaking off in that area? Would clear finger nail polish work? Or maybe super glue? I sure don't want to make it look ugly. The bow seems to shhot fine. Thanks, Gapmaster

Don Iam assuming that the Bow does have Clear "F" Glass on both back and Belly, if so then Super glue or clear Epoxy will work, but you will need to sand the area smooth again, and then spray with DEFT. You can buy it at any hardware store.

Another idea is to send it back to Martin for restoreation. Go to Martin.com and e-mail there customer service dept. first tell them your problem they might be able to help you out.

Search the Bowyers here on Trad Gang, I think some of them do indeed do repairs....ONE SHOT...  :)    :)    :)

Hi Matt. That is funny. I can tell you it for sure is not a green one.  :)

Hey ONESHOT, what is DEFT? I'm having a hard time finding it? Thanks, Don

If you bought the bow from a local archery shop, take it to them and see what they think.  I have a buddy in Tulsa who is good about that sort of thing.  Martin will probably fix it for you, but you may have to wait.
