First successful osage bow! (Pictures added)
« on: May 22, 2012, 11:10:00 AM »
This is a 64" ntn 52#@28" bow. It is 1/8" postive tiller with 1.5" at the fades and .5" at the nocks. I have been shooting it off the hand. But with the poor job on the handle wrap I will taking that off and putting an arrow rest on and doing another wrap. It has 4 coats of Tru-oil on the finish. It has been fun making. Rather challenging chasing a ring with some of the knots I had to contend with. But all that much more enjoyable to look at and to shoot.

I was going to glue on some tip overlays...but I just liked the way the tips came out.

It has about .5" string follow at this point in it's short life.

That is a remarkably nice piece of wood well placed knots and a great overall appearance. Nice job chasing the ring on the back David! Good looking bow!

Good lookin' bow Snag.  Just somethin' about a pretty piece of "Bodark" with a string on it.

Sure wish my fingers hadn't slipped off that string right when the flash went off! That window is going to cost me...

Dont EVEN think about blamin' me. I just wanted a full draw pic. Nothing was said about blowing out a window. Even though a bow that sweet could do it...........and not get in trouble for it!

David, Great looking bow...you done good!.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.
