Yet another snakeskin question

I'm working on a U Finish Omega that I recently got and am trying to decide whether or not to skin it. I have some prairie rattler skins that I traded for a while back and thought about giving it a try, but they're salted. Seems like I read on here (but I can't seem to find it now) that this is a bad thing to do. I've backed a couple of "selfbows" with cloth and think I can do this, but I want to make sure the skins are suitable before I get started. Thanks in advance for any help provided...Cory

Soak and Wash them in dishwashing soap until u get all the salt off of them and they will work fine. Ive used salted skins before and they worked fine after washing them good.

As long as you remove all the salt you will be OK.

Pats right I've used salted skins a couple times. Just keep washing them with dish soap a couple times rinseing them in plan water to remove the salt.

Cool, thanks guys. I chickened out on the Omega, but I still have a pecan backed osage flatbow that could use some dressing up. I have less in it, so I figure it will make a better "project". If/when I get around to it, I'll try to get some pics up.
