Finished pics added
« on: May 31, 2012, 10:38:00 PM »
I need your thoughts and suggestions on this one, I cut the throat of the grip alittle to small. It's around 1.50" from the throat to the face of the riser. The riser has 1/8' phenolic on the face and and 1/8" in the accent. I'm thinking about adding another 1/8 phenolic + 1/8 Jatoba to the face. The bow wieght is high 40's.What do you think? Tony

Tony,
With the phenolic backing and accent, along with the low draw weight you should be OK. I make my risers 1 5/8" deep x 1 1/4" wide and have never had one break.
I didnt miss, thats right where I was aiming

Thanks Greg, I've had one to break at full draw, it will make you gunshy! If I had a full lenght piece of Jatoba in front of the accent I wouldn't worry so much. My add some to the front to make me feel better. Thanks Tony

You should send it to me for testing for a while, just to be sure that it doesn't break.   :bigsmyl:

I'll take a picture of the other side of the riser Monday. I did something a little different with my logo that turned out good. Also, a full draw pic. Tony

Tony,

Kind of thought that was what you used. The red and black really sets it off.

Good work brother...

Man, besides beautiful lines, thats a smoking fast (190fps +) bow. I would love to test drive a model like that. The grip you use reminds me of the Bear bows. Your bow is really awsome.
