RW/LW clamp question
« on: February 25, 2008, 10:39:00 AM »
First off I apologize for asking a question which I feel I should be able to figure out. That being said, how do you tell the difference between the two types of clamps? Is it the same as with feathers? You see a friend of mine got a good deal on a fletcher, and we are trying to figure out what wing the clamps are. Im still kinda new to fletching and jigs and such. So far, I have been bass ackwards and full of brain farts. Any help would be appreciated (hopefully without laughter)...  :biglaugh:

left clamp...left wing
right clamp...right wing

Straight clamp...either clamp ( off set, to wing..left C/W...Right C/W )

What are your current arrows?  Does the clamp line up correctly on your feather?  Then you have the answer....

(sorry, I can't remember the correct orientation).

Jamie-  Set the clamp on the jig.  Look at the clamp from where you would squeeze to open it. If the clamp twists to the right, right wing, to the left, left wing.  If it is straight, either wing. What kind of jig is it?
