Pretty Plywood
« on: July 12, 2012, 08:06:00 PM »
Darn Dymondwood is hard not to like.  Heavy, consistent, easy to finish, and can be pretty sharp looking.

Just finished this one.

62", 50# @ 28", Cocobolo Dymondwood riser, elm limbs.

Hey Glunt, sharp combo right there. Red elm is way under utilized in my opinion, and that goes great with your coco dymandwood riser. Nice work!

Thanks for the nice comments guys. Yep, Cocobolo colored.  Finish is super glue to fill up the pores in the moradillo accent stripe & back overlay, 2 light coats of Bullseye shellac on all wood to fill and seal the elm limb edges - lighty steel wooled.  Then 2 coats of gloss Helmsman spar and 1 final coat of satin HS.

Went to glue up my elk bow the other night which will have those cool zebra veneers I got from you Kenny.  Unfortunately, my brother was cleaning the garage and tossed a box with my glass for it!  I'll be in touch.

Don, that reminds me of my bro's efforts to be scent free, kept his huntin clothes in a garbage bag on the back porch.

His wife took em to the curb by mistake!  :scared:    :scared:
Stay sharp, Kenny.
