Hi All,
So...I decided I want to try building a forward grip bow.
My question...two bows, the same limb design and stack, one has a recurve-ish type handle, the other has a forward grip....
Which bow will be fastest?
I'm thinking the forward grip bow will have a shorter power stroke (time for the arrow on the string), therefore be a little slower. Does that sound correct?
I'm thinking the brace height, if measured from the arc of the limbs, would stay the same. This would make the brace height measured from the grip, higher for the forward grip. Let's say the forward grip is one inch more forward of the recurve grip...I'd loose about 1" of power stroke.
So, then to get the same arrow speed, I'd need a thicker stack for the limbs.
Am I totally lost here, or is this sounding correct?
