I've seen your name mentioned on several threads in regard to bow building materials.  Do you sell anything other than the materials:  Form/oven hardware, blueprints, etc?  I'm looking to try my hand building a bow, probably a TD longbow.  I've checked out the Bingham designs/materials, but am curious if there is another source that may be better.  

I'm reasonably experienced with wood working:  The knife in my avatar is one that I built for a local NWTF banquet this summer.  But I know there is more to a bow than making it look pretty.  I may try to get in touch with you when I get ready to start if you don't have a problem with that.  Any advice/guidance that I can get will be appreciated.

I don't have the airhose, or hardware for forms.

Mine probably aren't "better" than binghams, but I like them better.  :D  

I have some plans being drawn up, but it takes a bit, more on my part than the guy drawing.

Right now , only the templates made of plywood to use with a router. 2 designs , a 58/60" and a 62/64" d/r longbow. Working on the 62/64" TD , but development takes time also!

Thanks Kenny.  It will likely be after the first of the year before I get a chance to start.  Maybe you will have the TD ready by then.  The one thing that I didn't like about Bingham's plans is that the TD longbow is only available in 68", which is a little longer than I want.  I don't really care for the riser shape either, but I can change that on a TD pretty easily without changing the performance.  I'll watch for any posts about your progress with the TD and try to get back in touch with you when I get ready to give it a try.  Good luck with the developement.

Matt, Mine is 62/64" , I don't see the need for a really long D/R bow.

The riser is the hard part, I can't find a shape I really, really like!  This is about as close as I have found with recessed limb pads...

 

Ryan, you can use as much or as little tools as you want to. But you prob need room enough to draw the bow in that size shop!  :D

Well I am going to wait until after the drawing, just in case I get lucky, and if not, order his blueprints and plans.  I have heard great things and would love to build one of his design bows.

I like the shape of the Stalker TD longbow myself.  I believe that's what the "Hope and Faith" bows were last year.  My thoughts for the Bingham plan was to keep the limb angle/shelf location the same as the blueprints and modify the shap to something similar to those.  

Looking at yours, I think I like the recessed limbs.  I might would put a little more curve on the back and use a strip of laminated woods the same color as the limb lams and wedges.  Might give the appearance of one continual piece from tip to tip.  May even look like a one piece longbow from a distance.  Either way, the red/black/gray looks great on a bow.

Well I have one of Kennys bows just like that, and let me tell ya something. My bow looks great and shoots great. So I guess Kenny is ok:)
