One thing I didnt mention in my original post (because I didnt notice it until now)was the way this bow balances. If you have ever had a Sovereign Ballistik recurve or have seen the pics on Johns site you know how you can balance the bow at the grip on one finger. This bow is balanced the same way. A tribute to a good thought out design.

You're killin' me!  Beautiful bow.  I am waiting for my ACS CX as I write this.  I'll unwrap mine in the parking lot.  Have fun with it.
Shoot strait and have fun!

I don't usually comment on the bows proud owners show on these pages but I have to make an exception with this one. It is simply a very clean, attractive piece of art. Glad to hear it shoots as well as it looks.Nothing ostentacious just class.

That's one real purty bow ya got there, Jim!

Yep, the word is out on Jim Jones and his Firefly bows.  I bought a stock one month ago at Braveheart and she's a dandy.  Mine's all bubinga with swoop accents and action'boo cores under waterfall bubinga veneers, 60", 47# @ 28".  Ordered a heavier set of 55# action'boo limbs and they're due to arrive tomorrow.

Rob,

I'm considering ordering another set of limbs as well. This bow I had Jim make me is for killin stuff. I'm thinkin about a longer-lighter set for 3D and the like.

Shawn,

I meant to take an unstrung pic for ya but I lost my camera and had to borrow my step daughters and she just got her own place. When I get a new camera I'll shoot ya one. There is some unstrung pics on Bravehearts site.

TTT one last time. If you have been thinking about a TD longbow you should consider a Fire Fly.

Heydeerman,  That is a great looking bow and man Bocote is one of my favorite woods...I remember those moments and the best part of the whole thing is right before you release the bubble wrap....I take a deep breath and savor that moment I see the bow for the first time...Then I break out the inspection light and look at it real close and admire the craftmanship of the bowers hand and think to myself how God has blessed the person who made this bow and wish I had the wisdom and knowledge to make them...Have any of you ever had that feeling?  Keefers  <")))><

Rob,

Thanks for posting that pic. She is a beaute.

Keefer, I have thought about trying my hand at making a bow or two. Peopls are always asking me if I make em. Not sure it's for me. If I did start makin bows I'd still but others just cause I wanna shoot em.

Arrow k9,

That is a good question. I thought about ordering another Firefly but I am totally happy with this one. I would not change one thing or have anything different made with this bow. The only thing I would proly do is order another with a different wood. I talked with Jim for about 30 minutes last night. One thing you guys proly dont know is that he has been making bows since the early nineties. He might be a newbie to this scene but not to the craft.
