Playing around a few weeks ago I had some axis 500's that were a tad weak. so I took some fly fishing weight putty and stuffed the nock full.It added about 20 grains to the rear and WAHOO perfect bare shaft very consistent.I'm shooting them full length from a 46 pound Habu vyper Kahnn.125 up front pulling 27 ".The Arrow weight 452grns.They are the same length and crono the same speed as my hunting set up just lighter.Has any one else played around with adding weight to the rear ?

I haven't done it but GT used to make nock adpaters where you could use screw weights on the nock end.Adding weight to the rear will stiffen up the spine, which it looks like it worked for you.

I played around with it a few years back with a cx nock insert. I used the pdp weight inserts in stock inserts to add nock weight and also had some nock insert protoypes built that were threaded to take pdp weights. Like you said, it is good if you have a weak shaft. You can also add more weight to the front and counter it with nock weight. I had a ton of problems keeping that weighted nock insert in the shaft without glueing in, which defeats the purpose of adjustablity. dino
