cool ink but I think the 2 layers of that glass is an over kill.

How does it shoot?

You can prob reduce about 40% off of those butt spliced siyahs. And I wood reinforce them at the glue joint with a wrap of some sort because your glue lines look gapy.

re: jeff:
on top the siyah's there is a glass layer as well.
re: black mockingbird: yes there is a gap but i tried to connect them firmly, some how it did happened with gap... well i have to live with it at the moment.
re: kelly: well, when i am making this, i thought the wood was not thick enough to make some weight so i decided to use 2 layers.

shooting with it, no i did not try yet.
and next week i will be on business trip to capital, so trying out will be over a week.

i will be updating with the pics...

guys:
is this glass correct? i am asking because, from your pictures, yours look different.

second note:
eucalyptus specs:
+-----+----------------------------------------+-------------------------+---------+------------+-------+------+
| id  | common                                 | botanical               | density | densitylbs | mor   | moe  |
+-----+----------------------------------------+-------------------------+---------+------------+-------+------+
| 154 | Eucalyptus, Karri (W. Australia)       | Eucalyptus diversicolor |     829 |      51.75 | 12.16 | 1885 |
| 155 | Eucalyptus, Mahogany (New South Wales) | "Eucalyptus             |    NULL |       NULL |  NULL | NULL |

they are very close to maple and such woods. seems like it is a good source for a bow  :)  do  you think so?

That glass looks like regular fiberglass matt.  You can get it at any place that sells fiberglass supplies.

re: gobbler716, i do not know in US but i am living in coastal area and in the shipyards, people are making or repairing simple fiberglass boats with polyester mixture with this. maybe this will help you to find it.

Inksoup there are probably at a guess, 100 species of Eucalyptus in Australia and more than a few are not suitable for bow making due to high resin and gum pockets. Some have good compressive and tensile strengths but its a case of sorting through data to arrive at a suitable species. One that does have reasonable attributes is spotted gum.Not sure which one you used in this bow so cant comment.

Gobbler you can actually pick that up at Wally World in a fiberglass patch kit or at just about any automotive or Home D type of store.

ok guys,
i have back from business trip and able to make some stretching on bow.

it seems like bow is light. did not measure yet but feels like light.

at least did not fall apart.  :)

the thickness of the limbs are just 8mm. + glass. well i am going to leave it like this and start building with 15mm thickness.

result:
eucalyptus is a wood for a bow.
good resistance, moderate value or moe, mor and elongation.
so it can.

best.

full draw pictures later since i am alone now.
