I got the "Shanks"
« on: December 31, 2006, 12:42:00 PM »
As Kevin Costners character Roy in the movie Tin Cup said....."I got the shanks"!

Man I shot so horribly yesterday that I started thinking about my anchor point....thinking about picking a spot....thinking about missing....thinking about my hand placement....thinking about the high cost of living in Cali....thinking about my chores...etc! That is the first time I have ever experienced anything like that....and it all started with a few really bad shots!!! I mean I was shooting high...shooting low....shooting right and shooting left!!

What the heck is going on???? I got the SHANKS!

Is there any super duper ultimate shank correction device or advice out there that can save me???!! LOL   :knothead:            :(

Man what a nightmare....HELP!

Yes, there is a super duper ultimate shank correction device!

Just send $29.95 to...
  ;)

Days like that, I think the best thing to do is hang your bow up and come back another day when you can focus on just picking a spot. Get close to help build confidence.

what I do is stop shooting and just watch other folks shoot.  there is Nothing like being able to just sit back and enjoy the flight of arrows.

When all you feel is peace and desire to shoot again thats when you pick up the bow.

Yep.  Leave those bad shots in the past where they belong.  Shoot good ones tomorrow.

Thanks fellas I had a much better day today! Was shooting well again and think I got my mojo back. Weird how different a guy can shoot one day from the next! I was more relaxed and focused on nothing but the "spot". Whole different animal today. I stopped on a positive note and will hopefully pick up tomorrow where today left off.

Dude, You don't have the "shanks" you got the "thinks".  LOL  I do that now and then too.  Start thinking about what I'm doing instead of doing it.

I shoot best when I keep it simple (No comments please).  See the target, shoot the target.

Work on form another time when things are going better.

Jack - Now I don't care who you are.... that's funny!
Getting older I tend to talk to myself but, at least I know that I am as smart as the one I am talking to.
