Osage Recurve
« on: February 07, 2007, 09:03:00 AM »
here's one i just finished.  she is 64" long and draws 63#@26".  i'm guessing she shoots in the high 170s to low 180s.  had a pin knot cluster i had to deal with.  it worried me a little during the tillering but it held up.  finished her off with seven coats of tru-oil.  enjoy!

A beauty- did you bend it with dry heat, steam or boil? Also would like to see your bending forms if you use them.

Nice. Its kinda on the line between recurve and R/D "long" bow or hybrid. The string does not appear to touch the limb when strung. How about a picture of it unstrung?

Very nice tiller and finish work and looks like a real shooter.

Sweet lookin curve Chris, 100 fps plus draw wieght or in your case 163 fps would be great for most selfbows, and I have heard it said that a recurve can gain as much as 25%, so I'd say you did real good.
