Hi. A freand of mine gave me a new bottle of versamid andhardener. has any one ever used it. and is it as good as smooth on. thank you. BUCK

I hear it's good but is thinner than Smooth On, I'm thinking it may soak into the wood better but may be more likely to give you a dry joint??. I think versamid 140 is what they use at Black Widow, I asked them years ago and I pretty sure thats what I was told. I have only used Smooth On..

I used to use it, Robert is right, thinner and on porous woods like red elm, may dry joint.
I know cause I blew one up that had a dry spot about the size of a nickel just past fade....
Put an extra coat on if in doubt.

nightmare---use it to glue jigs--forms and stuff that won't blow up in or near your face
