Longbow #2 being glued up.
« on: January 02, 2013, 03:10:00 PM »
I have red oak board longbow #2 going.  Have the measurements marked and the riser block glued on.  I learned a lot from comments here, Sam Harper, and lots of great info on-line to make #2 a good shooting bow.  I still have the pieces of longbow #1 to play with....backing, staining, etc.

After this one, I am going to scrounge for other hardwood pieces from contractors, lumber yards, wherever I can grab some hickory, etc.

Wish me skill and luck!

Dimondback, I already am.  I go hunting and all I can think about is what kind of bow would this hickory make...the one I am hiding behind....Or, can I make a bow from this kind of tree or that!  I am hooked!
