One coat of Zar Rosewood.
Two coats of Minwax Ebony.

I didn't like the Rosewood when I put it on. Looked kinda pinkish purple. So I attempted to darken it up with the Ebony. Took two coats to get it where I wanted it. I've noticed Minwax stain is thin and don't "take" to the wood as good as Zar. Zar is kinda thick and gelatinous and it really puts the color to the wood.

Wow...that looks fantastic.  Lots of character, great color...and great pics!  Nicely done.

Thank you sir.
I talked to fellow that acquired the bow yesterday to check and see if he was liking it good and that he was well satisified. He was very pleased. Said he had shot it so much that his fingers was getting sore. If I let one go from my collection, that's the kind of people I like to equip.

So-Mo,
Working on my first Osage as we speak. Chasing a ring on a billet, then another. Got a sleeve and gonna try a take down. May switch gears though and work on my first historically correct wood core scabbard for my new Albion Crecy (longsword).
