I promise I have been working on bows. What was going to be a 62" american long bow made out of yeller wood is now looking like it wants to be a 50" bendy handle bow, if a bow at all.

I also am working on that re-curve I started last year, after some issues I had to set it aside and have started working it again. If the rawhide stays put. It will be an option. If we get the snow they are calling for I may chase a ring on yet another bow piece of yeller stuff.    :scared:    :knothead:

I'm makin' progress on my bow.  I've got everything shaped and I'm now down to final sanding and filling the grain with super glue.  Paduak is a bit porus, so it will probably take a couple rounds of super glue and sanding.

Man I suck. These bows are fantastic. I'm hoping I can and my recipient something different than what they usually make. Hopefully that will make it special for them. I really better get cracking.

Thats a great looking riser Jsweka.

Still haven't worked in mine either.  Its glued up and got the limbs tapered but haven't started tillering on it much.  I've been trying to get another one straightened out first.  So *********** I'll try to get my hind end in gear.

LOL - Well Roy, I guess it's a good thing you didn't get in the swap this year so there's no chance of you having to look at them light colored tip overlays.

Some fine lookin bows being built for sure...I like'm all. I've been busy as a bee at work and spending quite a few weekends with my dad after my step mom past away but I did get in some bow work this week. I took this one off the cawl a few weeks ago and dang knot don't look so good... If I'm lucky I might be able to get a lighter weight bow out of it later.

I've got another stave ready to lay out and hope to get that done tomorrow night.

Westtexan man that sucks I have a small place a splinter came on on the one I am chasing a ring on. i hope it is not deep does not look it but I want know until I get down to the ring I want. If it is through that one I will be setting this blank aside and will back it later and may just decrown it also.

Looking good.

Nice looking bows John & Kevin.

What shaping or sanding tools do you glass bow guys rely on for shaping the overlays into the glass so perfectly without getting in to the glass too much?

Got the first coat of epoxy sealent on the riser yesterday. After seeing what I did, well all I can say is my head must have been somewhere it shouldn't.  :bigsmyl:
