Good luck with the heat gun David, gonna make a sweet looking bow when complete.

D. That riser will really pop when you get some finish on it.

Well I got the limbs roughed out and mounted- now to make the riser look like a riser instead of a block of wood and turn it into a bow for "X"...

That looks great Trux.  I sold my curve not too long ago so I'll be waiting on it to show up to my door.

Well i tried to put that brand in my riser and couldn't get it to work right so I sanded it out.   Oh well on to the osage and bacote tip underlays (the glue on them is drying at the moment) then the deer antler tips.  Then shape and polish the tips, color the boo, clear it, label it, build a string for it, put on shelf material and get it on its way......so not many more steps left to go..lol..Oh and shoot it a bunch....then fix whatever breaks..lol (knock on wood)

Looking good MJWhitby. Looks like a fine piece of wood. I need to get busy myself.

Mike,
Lookin good.  Did you take it down another ring like you thought you might?  Is is bending a little yet?  Looks like a real nice snakey piece of wood.

That piece of wood deserves some skins when it's finished.

Ya I took it down two rings and its just starting to bend. I'm gonna narrow the tips up a little and hopefully start the tillering. I've not skinned a bow yet so that may be a good time to learn.

We may have to go raid Brian's freezer for some skins.  He don't need them anyways.  :goldtooth:

You get those tips narrowed up and a litle taken off the belly so it is bending and you may want to heat it up and line the tips up a little.
