I know this is the same pic I posted a little bit back but I was debating on putting a leather handle wrap.  What do you all think wrap it or not??

I like it just the way it is, D.   :)

I wouldn't wrap it, I like mine plain...

I do have a large roll of pink foil, special ordered it for ol Roy  , but would cut a bit off if the bow is goin to PA.

He thinks it will keep the aliens from prob... well you know...
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Tempered the belly on my trade bow, cut an inch off the tips, and tweaked the tiller.  Sanded it down and now figuring out what to put on the handle.  Still a few pounds light but much closer than it was earlier.  Getting some skins around to plaster on this stick and I'll be done.

DVS: I do like your version of being finished and waiting to see movement from your recipient.  I may have to invoke the DVS RULE as well.  Maybe if you're going to OJAM and you bring it we can all shoot that person's bow before they do.

Yup, satin wipe on poly = great success.

I like that handle as is.

Keep it simple, we shoot these bows for simplicity and tradition ... but when we make em we put on leather handle wrap complete with beaded lacing, string silencers, 4 layers of tip overlays of phenolic, ebony, gold and elephant tusk, tip underlays of horn, a string with 6 colors, sinew backing over bamboo backing over hickory backing over 3 core woods etc.
Then make it a takedown, paint the limbs, and brand it with a mountain landscape.

I'm as guilty as anyone but that handle is too nice to mess with.

Kenny, I don't think Roy needs to worry about being probed. You seen him without his shirt on. I think I saw him in the movies once "When Mars Attacks." He is the alien.

I just wish he had left his skirt on and didn't shave for this photo.

I'd leave it natural like it is and let age like finely cured beef or a woman.   They both get better with age.

Even the best leather wrap always hides some nice wood.  Depends on how the grip feels in your hand without a wrap.

If ya ask me, Roy is in desperate need of a wrap. A paper lawn bag would be a good start    :0)
I like bows without the handles wrapped. I may wrap mine to hide blemishes, but you guys should show off a little !

Sending this guy out today. I'm leaving the rest of the pics to the new owner. The tattoo came out nice as well.

WOW!!!  Postman just left me an early birthday present!  Came from Dmaxshawn.  A beautiful myrtle and walnut three piece take down bow.

Shawn, the bow is even better looking in person than in the pics if that is possible.  Just got it together and am about to go out and shoot it a bit.  I'll post some pics as soon as I can.  By the way, I know it is coinsidental but my birthday is Saturday.

Happy Birthday to ME!  :goldtooth:

Your welcome Mr Flanrey.  I'm really not into how fast bows are I'm more impressed by how quiet they are.  I know there fast enough to kill. I shot that bow several times with a bare string and it was quiet. Once the puffs fray enough trim em down to about 3/4 inch that's usually where I end up with mine.  This bow swap is a really cool deal.  I look forward to it every year.
