Ok as promised. Here are some pics of my new bow. I also got 2 flint heads and a new scraper. (will post pics of them later)

Thanks Goose I love the way this bow shoots. It is quiet and smooth. It will see time in the woods this fall.

I have my trad bow pulling 25" fingers crossed it makes it to 28". I need a new scale so I don't know what the weight is.

Got mine to brace yesterday.  Got her drawing to 16" and really exercised it.  I believe it may make it.  Don't want to put a curse on it but it took very little set.  I glued some buffalo horn on for tips last night.  Gotta go out of town for four days in the morning.  Just not getting much bow shop time these days.

Nice lookin' bow, Goose! Happy for you, Kelly!
Now, how'd the rear tire of that truck hold up to the arrow?

I have my trade bow pulled to 18" @ 50lbs. The gizmo says it's bending evenly but I'm trying to get pics up so ya'll can verify that for me.  (Me an' photobucket don't get along!)

This bow is coming along well. It has been flexing pretty evenly all along so far.

Well everyone can stop holding their breaths waiting on a package from a Mr. David Hicks, cause it was on my front step when I got home from work today. I was a little concerned as the cardboard tube was pretty badly bent, right by the "fragile" sign. However on opening the tube everything was as it was supposed to be. This bow is gorgeous. bamboo backed Ipe with osage, bocote and maple in the handle and tip underlays along with antler tip overlays. grabbed the first bundle of arrows I could reach and went out and shot a couple of rounds through it. It is whisper quiet smooth shooting. Definetly going to be my go-to bow this year. I think I have just the arrows to tune to it. The heads that came with it are great and will hopefully make meat this year.

Will try for a full draw shot as soon as I can rustle up an assistant. I am humbled to get such a beautiful bow and will hopefully do it justice this year and in years to come. Really giving me the incentive to get mine finished.

Hey was the cardboard triangles still taped on each end??  I put them on there to keep it from rolling around the post office.  That is the same tube that bigbob sent mine in from Australia.  Isn't it funny that it came that far with no damage but it couln't make it to NY without getting beat up.  Thanks for all the nice words Tony.  I really hope it works out great for you.  If there is anything I can help you with just let me know.  I haven't had the chance to shoot anything live with the heads yet.  Let me know how they do.

Dave, funny that the tube came from Australia to you and then onto me, as I am from Australia. The circle of the bowyer's life.  :)  Bow feels great and I'll let you know what arrows work out of it. it sure feels like a stout 52#. The heads feel great and I'll get them razor sharp to make sure they can do the job right. I just have to get tuning and practicing before the season.
Got to get my bow finished first though. Great incentive.

Mine was shipped and delivered on April 30th but I am unable to get in touch with the recipient. Don't know if that counts or not?

i've received mine a few weeks back.

blew up the vine maple today. that the 7th bow i've killed since moving to alberta. that makes 2 of 9 bows in a year and a half that are still shooting, the rest are dead. buddy came over and tested the maple, says the moisture was 2.5%. i know it's been hella dry here all year but didn't think it was that dry.

got to get a few more staves ordered, i'm out.
