Good news! I had the limbs bending on the wall pretty nice Sunday night. Tonight I shaped the riser, cut the shelf, worked the limbs a bit more and started shooting it. It shoots right where I look at 5 yards (as far as the light will shine on a scrap of paper out of my shop door.) Fairly smooth too, but I think I can improve it just a touch by working the outer third of the upper limb just a bit. I still have almost 4 lbs to play with and don't expect much more sanding. Of course I wish I could have dead-centered my recipient's range, but next time....
But the best news is my wife seems to think it's genuinely cool. Considering I usually get nothing but grief from her, this is saying something! Someday I hope she asks for one, that's when I know I've made it.
I expect to be spraying the bow and dresser by Friday at the latest. Hopefully take the bow for a quick run at the 3D tourney on Sunday and ship it on Monday. Still a string to make, handle to wrap, etc though. But I'm on a streak lately! Thanks for listening. No one else here will.
