Good news!  I had the limbs bending on the wall pretty nice Sunday night.  Tonight I shaped the riser, cut the shelf, worked the limbs a bit more and started shooting it.  It shoots right where I look at 5 yards (as far as the light will shine on a scrap of paper out of my shop door.)  Fairly smooth too, but I think I can improve it just a touch by working the outer third of the upper limb just a bit.  I still have almost 4 lbs to play with and don't expect much more sanding.  Of course I wish I could have dead-centered my recipient's range, but next time....

But the best news is my wife seems to think it's genuinely cool.  Considering I usually get nothing but grief from her, this is saying something!  Someday I hope she asks for one, that's when I know I've made it.

I expect to be spraying the bow and dresser by Friday at the latest.  Hopefully take the bow for a quick run at the 3D tourney on Sunday and ship it on Monday.  Still a string to make, handle to wrap, etc though.  But I'm on a streak lately!  Thanks for listening.  No one else here will.   :dunno:

I am pulling close to my weight and very close to the draw length.

I will try and get some pics up. I soon, the good news is I am going to MOJAM for a day so I should be able to finish up there for sure.

They say no pic it didn't happen, so just so y'all know, here's my swap bow ready for a little final sanding and finish.  Hickory-backed white oak, tempered and trapped.  She's pretty quick.  landing right at the bottom range of recip's draw weight.  Right around 17oz mass:

After failing to get 2 sets of recurve limbs tracking straight I started over at scratch. I left work early yesterday to get more done one her I've got a overlay on the riser to do yet and a fair amount of sanding but did get her shooting lastnight. Weight is good and hoping to be spraying her with tbird this weekend.

Nice work guys. Have seen some great looking I-beam risers, I guess this is going to be the next thing to tackle.

BTW after some slight modifications and some more testing I got mine packed and ready to ship. Hope ******* like it and doesn't mind receiving a few days late.

Well woke up just a few moments ago because nature called and found a long box on my doorstep. Took me a few minutes to let my eyes adjust before I could read the shipping label. Seeing where it was from I knew it had to be my trade bow because I didn't order anything from New Jersey.

I pulled out of the box a beautiful R/D longbow from Millhimes... first two words out of my mouth, "HELL YEAH"!!!!!!

Thank you so much for the bow Millhimes... you bet this thing is headed to to the woods this fall. Will be shooting it a bunch this week because I will be going to a "Take aim for breast cancer shoot" next weekend.    :notworthy:    :archer2:

Thanks again Millhimes but ya got to add the dimensions and material info because I know I will be getting asked all about it at the shoot.

Nice bow Justin!  Now that the light is at the end of the shipping tube, I'm starting to ask my kids if anything showed up or if there is a slip in the mail....

First coat of finish tonight, upper limb:
