I'm finally finished with my bow! It took me a few tries more than I wanted, but I came out with a bow that I'm happy with. Hopefully ********* will like it too!
It's a little more primitive than my usual bbo. It's an unbacked, all natural, bend in the handle Osage.     60" amo.    55#@30"
With a total finished weight of 15 ounces, including antler tips.

Sorry I have been away for a little while. I had family visiting from Australia and that cut into the workshop time some.
Anyway I have been diligently working on flattening the back of a stave and getting the tapers even so I can add the backing strip. Just warmed it up to get a slight twist out of it and will put the backing on tonight. Hopefully with the preliminary work tillering should not be to difficult and I should have a shooter by the end of the week.
I already have my bow, so my guy is guaranteed a good bow cause if i can't get this done he will get my bow, as sad as that would make me.

Well I put the floppy rest on and one coat of tru-oil but the rain today is making drying slow. I Hope to ship it by Friday. I will put at least 3 more coats on and get the handle wrap on. Shot it a bit more. I may get some tip overlays on but we shall see have not had a lot of good luck with them.

A couple of weeks back I received my trade bow from Pete Ward.  Only bad thing about it was I had made myself a promise not open my trade bow until mine was sent.   After a couple weeks and several setbacks with the finish on my bow it was finally mailed last week.  Unfortunately, a work related trip kept me from opening the schedule 40 PVC tube until yesterday.  I will let the pictures do the talking for now.

Braced:

The first five arrows:

Full Draw:

This bow is smooooooth and shoots some of Snag’s 55# Wilderness arrows right where I am looking.

Pete,
Thanks, You Done Good …………..Really Good!

Glad you like it Walt. I hated to pack it up.   :)   The string on it is a 10 strand DF97 with 16 strands in the loops.
Sorry I didn't get a better finish on it, but I was out of time..  You can touch it up with Tru Oil if you think it needs it.

Pete,

The finish is fine, on most of my personal bows I use a can of spray paint followed up with sandpaper to break up any shine.  Been busted way too many times usings those perty shinny bows.

Just checking in.  Lot's of good stuff being sent and received!

Well i hope ********* will be pleased with mine. Just finished shooting her in and checking her over one last time.  I'm waxing her up today and plan to ship her off tomorrow.  Sorry had to push so close, well past, the deadline, this was my plan b.

Not only are we farther behind this year (and I'm no exception), but I think we're also posting fewer pictures.  I think there were more progress pictures last year.

Any of y'all still working, lets see some eye candy in progress!!

I am still working on my trad bow for &$!?@. Dang handle keeps popping off. May end up with a bend-through-the-handle bow.

My e-mail is jacked up and my wife can't even get my photo bucket to work!

Excuses, excuses! But it's coming!

Beautiful bow, Caleb!
