WOW!!!! Thats All I can say! I can't tell you what I had to do to get the bow from the post office ... Gonna plead the 5th on that one. (slight mishap with addresses ... seems it got sent to my old address ... no big deal though all worked out)
Anyway, Just got my bow from JTBlueFeather and it's a very nice Bamboo backed ipe with some mild R/D. I scaled it at just about 43# @ my 25" draw length which is just perfect. John also sent it with a nicely amde string ... feels like B-50 or maybe B-55 with some nice string silencers. Horn overlays with little walnut? accents. Overall a really nice bow that I'm very happy to own. I usually cut all my bows in with shelves, this one is not cut which is actually great because I've been wanting to do some shooting off the hand and now I have the perfect bow to do it with.
John did a nice split leather handle wrap which is great, palm swella dn grip are perfect for my hand. Couldn't be happier and a big thanks to John, keep up the good work and keep making those bows.
OH! Yeah .... did I mention .... John also included a BEAUTIFUL knife in the box also!!!!!
I was confused at first because when I opened the tube it was wrapped up, and this heavy 8" log of bubble wrap fell out on the floor with a thud ..... I'm thinking what the heck is that!?
When I saw that knife I almost couldn't believe it. An absolute dandy needing as much praise as the bow. Judging by the makers mark being a feather I assume this is one of John's originals.
Looks to be about 9-10" overall length, 4.5-5" blade with a slight curvature along the back of the blade and a slight drop point. Knife scales are cocobolo! The tang of the blade is beautifully notched along the back, and the pins are beautfully done in brass and surrounded by very impressive brass inlay work. This is a real piece of art up there with the finest knives I've laid my hands on.
Anyway, Let me say againe, the most sincere of thanks to you John. These are two beautiful pieces you've sent me, either one is more than I could have ever expected. I'll post photos after work today .... I'm already LATE!
P.S. John I also found your letter. Thanks again it means alot. The wait was well worth it, besides family always comes first.
