Glue the splinter down with GOOD CA glue. Then rawhide back it while wrapping it over the edges to the belly. You'll never hear from it again.

Sounds good Pearl, any CA glue recommendation? Need to order some rawhide. Who carries good rawhide? If this works out I may have a great reason to use my set of bull snake skins.
Backing with hickory would be good but I like the idea of wrapping over the sides since this is near the edge.

I use Loctite Professional exclusively. Ive tried 3-4 others and I prefer this. It dries clear and is incredibly strong. Id suggest using the classifides to get some rawhide strips. Get whitetail rather than beef. Beef is very thick and would require sanding to thin it.

Pictures on the knife first. Bow will need to wait. I'm literally swamped with work.

If the bow looks anything like the knife I'd say you hit the double jackpot.  Beautiful work for sure.

Sporthunter, that is not a good piece of wood for a bow.  Wood choice is everything in wooden bows.  I'd not trust any fix on that one short of a full wooden backing.  I don't think rawhide is gonna do it.  Sorry.
Take a kid hunting!
