Well I have had more problems with the hickory pyramid bow. I got compression fractures near the lower limb outer 1/3rd. Used a Torges patch to fix that spot, trapped the back and relieved stress in the area. Pulled it about 100 times on the string to exercise and see how it was looking. Tiller still looked good, just a few tweaks needed. I looked it over and there were more compression fractures near the fade on the lower limb. I could fix these in the same way and probably loose a couple of pounds, but I feel some trepidation sending a bow with several repairs on it. I have tried to contact my recipient to see what he would like me to do. If he wants I will keep working on a bow for him or send him the bow I received. I will keep working on my bow. I don't think it is fire wood yet and it is pretty long 68" so I could knock an inch off each end to gain back some weight after fixing the stressed areas. Will keep you posted.

Justin,
You are awesome!

razor I would start another one and leave the hickory and try and fix that on later and give it to one of them folks that as you for a bow because they want to try and shot one.

I will try and get hold of your bowyer also. And ask them what they would like.

Tony, is that the same bow you had pictures of, the hickory backed hickory with the reflex in it?

Ben, No it is a pyramid hickory backed hickory. that first one did some real weird things that I think were related to humidity and the weird reflex i put in it. Compression fractures happened at the ends of the non bending sections, tips and fades. i think I needed to have better transitions. I didn't have hinges but there was obviously too much stress at these points.

We are still will have 2 out. (not including that one Justin shipped) I have also be told by one still awaiting a bow not to rush. And I have contacted the other and they have not gotten back to me so I guess they are not worried.

We are close. I really would like to get it wrapped up very soon.

And as I suspected I read the label wrong... I have been tracking it and it is on its way. May be there sometime this week but it doesn't give me a delivery date.

Hope you took out the insurance, Justin! LOL! I didn't the first time I shipped and the tip was broken. The second trip was insured and nothing out of place happened!

Live and learn. I'd read others advise to always take out the insurance but I wouldn't listen... Guess what I'll always do from now on?   :knothead:
