I got everything ready for glue up tonight.   Try to get it in the form tomorrow night after work.  Still haven't made up my mind what I want to go with the bacote riser yet.  I was thinking osage but maybe maple.  I didn't have a long enough piece of osage to make a powerlam out of so I had to use a piece of maple.   So I might use maple in the riser to match it.   And I know all these words are boring without pictures. lol

Josh,
I ship my longbows in PVC tubes.  Never had any problems.

PVC pipe with a couple of end caps and lots of duct tape has yet to fail me.  I have received a couple of items in the long cardboard tubes where they were smashed and bent.  My .02

That should be great!  How did you cut that stuff, in your bandsaw!

Roy, I thought they took away your "right to pick on people" card, when you wimped out on us this year. Guess the mods are going soft or their scared of a thumpin.

Don't take it from him Coaster, give it right back to the old geezer.    :knothead:    :deadhorse:

I am tempting fate.  Got my riser cut up, phenolic in , glued up and in the hot box.  only 35 degrees in garage.  I put a couple tarps over box and taped securly around.  these are the silver tarps, silver in towards box.  going to let it set 5 1/2 hours.  We will see.  Worst case, I have to get a new riser block.  Just wanted to see if I could glue up at the lower temps.

It'll cure fine in your hot box, stick a meat thermometer in to see what temp your getting. If your not getting at least 150 leave it in till bedtime tonight, smooth on will cure at 70 degrees if ya give it 24 hours. I've been putting mine in the oven at 130 to 140 for 8 hours and haven't had lams come apart.

I just told my wife I was moving the operation indoors due to inclimate weather! She gave me a look but didn't say anything, so I took that to mean ok!

Lol cabbage I'm not sure how long you've been married, but that's not what that look meant.

It'll be 8 years this fall, so long enough to know better.
Actually, the hot box is buried behind a bunch of guitars, drums, and a keyboard. Need to get that room straightened up so I van start cramming on these bows!

I put about 50 arrows through the molly I'm building for the trade. It shoots where I'm looking, but it's going to be a close call making weight...

Ran out of time today to get the bushings and pins installed. But it's going to be a bow soon.  The myrtle looks great.  Should finish out around XX pounds. @ XX inches.   I sure hope _______   ________  __________ enjoys it.

Shawn,
You have our attention with that myrtle  The red flare in the riser is going to really set it off.
It looks right handed that's a good sign.    :bigsmyl:

Maybe I drew the same pattern on the other side!!!!     HAHA!!! Oh this is fun fun fun!!!

I will be using the impala horn for the tips.  The riser is bostgone walnut with myrtle walnut red phenolic accents.  It looks plain now but when wetted it comes to life with lots of curl.
