My goal is to get one out this year waaaaayyyy before the deadline.  Last year I was into the grace period, and the year before I was right up to it.

I'm hereby making my 2013 resolution to either finish the trade bow by April or have broken at least two in the effort.

Now ya'll have to help me out by reminding me in March of how a person should never type resolutions into the internet while drinking...

Yah I may have to change my tradgang setting because every email goes to my phone including tradgang pm's so every time my phone dings I get all excited for nothing. I may need drugs to balance my emotions by the time I get my name .

If you think about it, this bow swap is really pretty cool. A bunch of guys chompin' at the bit to make a bow for a fellow bowyer, just for the fun of it! I mean, we all know we'll get something in return, but I'm sure you all are like me, and you're just excited to build and give!
Thank you all for doing this bow swap!

Now if we all just had some names ...   ;)

We may have to start another thread when we actually do get names!   :biglaugh:

Also, I put that I wanted a glass bow, but after hearing ya'll talk about these self bows, I'd take one of them too! How do I change my requests? I'd really take anything! Maybe I'm just excited so actually get one of these nice bows I see ya'll making!

not sure how that list reads Kelly. I'm down as glass 40-55#. does that mean what I'm making or gettin?I'd prefer wood or self bow back to me but will be happy with anything from 40# to 55#

Bob the list Kelly posted is what you are building. If it's wrong just let me know.

I'm working on getting it all sorted out and will start sending out the victims list ASAP. I work six days a week and time is limited. At the very latest everyone will have their info by sunday evening.

And a BIG thanks again to Stiks & Kelly for their time and effort with the swap. I believe it's very clear how much it means to all, and how much fun we are going to have.

Exactly.  And that's why I want to get ahead on this one.  Finishing at or into the grace period wasn't a function of taking my time over 6 months.  But rather it was procrastinating until the last month or two when you do tend to hurry and you propbably have too many other things going on as well.  Aiming for April gets a person started sooner which lets you take a little more time.  An artificial deadline in April doesn't put the same pressure on a person that the real one in July does.

Now I'm confused.....

What Kelly listed for me is what I'm hoping to get.

I'll build a glass recurve in left or right hand and in any weight.

I think Troy has it correct.

Am as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs!!!!

Not waiting to see who my recipient is!  Am going to build an experimental (for me) glass lam bow.  Expect to build at least three all wood prototypes before starting on the real thing.  First one is already started!

First builders of this style were working at it about 9500 BP.  Hope the end product is not too much of an insult to them!

So, whoevers name comes down, hope you don't mind being a guinea pig!
