Good to hear your feeling better D. Funny how little things like that can pack a big punch.
Working on a couple of bows at the moment hoping one will be good enough to join the swap this year.

As I am getting close to finishing my plan A trade bow I was wondering what to write on the bow. I know weight at draw length and so on, but what name to write on the bow? Do you guys write the persons real name or their TradGang handle?

Dave when your drawlength is as short as yours, your barely past brace height for most people.  :)

Got a limb in the oven 11:00 this morning, out at 4:00.  looks perfect.  Got the other limb in at 5:30.  Will take out 10:30 tonight.  What a nice day, 50 degrees.  It will be good to have both limbs baked.  Just the riser left to cook when I get all the pieces here.  Then temperature out side not so critical.

well, got an idea for my trade bow. thinking of gluing on an antler bur for the arrow rest and tip overlays. not sure what glue to use for them though. any suggestions? still unsure if it will be vine maple, hickory, locust, ash, or cascara.

I got some better pics today of that beauty Cory made me.  It's a great bow and I about froze my fingers off outside, but it just needed to be shot.

Working on another bow today. A Sudbury-ish 68" bow.
Got it cut out and floor tillered. Looks really nice actually. Like the way the handle flows to the wide portion of the limbs.
Also bought some bubinga for the tips of the other bow I'm finishing up. My plan is to build several types and send the nicest on to to trade bow recipient. I sure hope ********* likes it. This really does push you into new territory. I'm liking it. Looks like the first thing I've learned when building a bow for someone else--I really take a lot more time in order to make it as nice a possible. Up till now- I just got a good tiller on it--put some kinda finish on it and shot the he** out of it.

I'm getting closer to being able to actually work on my trade bow.  Got a few more days then I can start.  Actually I think I'll work on the spliced veneers and riser maybe Monday or Tuesday while I'm waiting to harden a couple knifes.

All you dang overachievers are making me feel like a slacker!    :knothead:
