copperheads for a friend

Skinned this bow for a friend that likes things a little different. Shows how the background can influence color.

Chuck,
That looks awesome. Give us some details on the bow and the color influence.

Thanks !
Osage recurve with silk backing that was painted brown. Painted over brown with off white, rust orange, burgundy. Lightly steel wool back through different colors for effect. Then skin as normal. I have been using Epifanes varnish, great stuff.

That looks wicked, Chuck! I love how the paint shows through the skin, it gives it a whole 'nother dimension. Fantastic work, and thanks for the details!  :notworthy:

DVS, I have already shipped the bow. I did not make the bow, just skinned it.

I got two pairs of coppers on the way. Guess what is going to happen , One of them is going to be my personal bow. I can do anything I want with it. This is going to be fun.

God bless you all, Steve

Probably orange, beige and black just to enhanse the natural colors I will lay the skin out on the limbs first and mark the appropriate areas ;then mask and paint the beige . then the orange over it./ black will be the limb carbon/

At least thats what I'm thinking right now./

God bless, Steve
