LaClair Lil' Favorite recurve?
« on: February 07, 2007, 12:31:00 PM »
Who out there has one that can give me the lowdown on how it shoots and any other info you can give about it good or bad.

Been looking for that sweet shooting short recurve that has it all..LOL if there is such a thing! Just want some solid info.

Thanks!

I bought Ron's prototype for this bow at Kalamazoo.  I love it.  It draws smooth and hits hard.  I love the grip style they build into these bows and the quality is second to none.  The one I bought is 54" 54#@27" and it draws smooth out to my 28" and I was told they will draw out to about 29".

Tim,

I draw out to 29" and I killed a nice doe up at Shrewhaven Lodge with your bow. I probably would've bagged another with it (I only got one day), but Roger Norris kept hogging the bow the rest of the week!  :knothead:

The 'lil favorite is a dandy shooting bow and best of all, it has the Super Shrew grip that your hand just melts into.

Tim, Is it somewhat forgiving for a short bow? Most shortys I have tried are not very forgiving of poor form or release errors.

The bow is pretty forgiving.  I really enjoy shooting it.  It is a nice little point and shoot kind of bow.  It is very dead in the hand and light to carry.  I can see already this is going to replace my chek-mate raven and my go to short bow.

I love when this happens...I just came in from shooting this 20 yard group with a Super Shrew Scout and saw this post...I have a L'il Favorite on order. I thought so much of that bow, by the way, I suggested the name,  L'il Favorite. AWESOME bow. I sat 3 or for nights with that prototype, I realy love it. I have Chameleon Lil Fav on order, due in a couple weeks. JUST IN TIME FOR TURKEYS!

What are some of the different wood options for his risers?? I like the brown curly birch limb veneers, but was trying to think of a nice complimentary riser wood to match or even something to possibly give it contrast for that matter.

I think that was the same bow I shot at the Kzoo trad show. Very fast and hardly any shock. Super Sweet!
Just one more step please!

Mark, we could use Coco Bolo, Bocote or any dense/heavy exotic wood that would match of give good contrast to your choice of vaneers

This bow has brown Curly Birch limb vaneers with a phenolic and actionwood riser

Roger,

I told you those lazer guided accuracy systems need to be retuned every 1 1/2 years!
