I too lost a hoard of prime bow wood to woodborers. I only let it happen once. When it comes to trashing my hard-earned bow wood, I'm a quick learner.
By the way, keeping them in a shed or garage won't always stop them. Mine were in my garage/wood shop when they got to them. Now, I dig all of my bark-on staves out once in a while, lean them up against the garage, and spray them with poison. The best bet is to spray them as soon as you get them home, then do what you need to do to them drying asap... strip bark and sapwood, reduce size, etc.
