hi there..  what do u think about my new bow template?  it is something like bear tamerlane ( my bow no.1 when looking bow shape, size, riser... )

NTN will be about 64-66" , width 1 1/2 - 2 " .
Dimensions are in cm , any suggestions or criticism are welcome...

hi ...  I have seen here on tg...  from Mt. Clemens Bowyer ... I love shape of this bow... unstrung and strung ...  It will be one piece... For riser wood : hornbeam, cherry, ash..  Limbs:  american walnut, maple, ash, cherry...  This are woods I have by now...  and don"t know if I will get some other....  here in Croatia egzotic wood is very hard to get and it is very expenisive... also and buy some fiberglass is dream...

The end of the fades between the lams got to start paper thin and paralell- the riser I see starts there with ~20° and the belly lam comes in ~15°.
If thats the template no lams will be able to cover the fades AND leave them together.

I agree. Blend the belly side of the riser where it flows into the limb to make a smoother transition and you'll have it. Overall looks real good though!

Yeah basically the fades have to taper down very very very gradually. If this doesn't make sense yet you'll definately figure it out when you try and do a mock up. There bill be gaps between the lams after the fade if it ends too abruptly.

Hi, it is my version of longer recurve ( never finished )  :(   So ....      

this is bow that I made from template in previus post.... It is 6mm thick, 4,40 cm wide... 1.2 mm thick am. walnut x2 and in the middle maple 1.2mm. all parallel... Riser is 60 cm long...  On back and belly 1.2mm my homemade carbon. It came up 62" NTN...  let's go to problems...  when it was first strung up, I heard cracks in lower limb just past the fades where limb begins ( black circle ) - problem was carbon ( I think it was not glued properly )... on upper limb and walnut and carbon cracked together - I still don't know what could be a problem. Both limbs curved just past the fades. So I have couple of question for you all experienced bowyers: would taper lams help to remove curves forward the tips? What about power lams?  could I use them too ? ( and avoid cracks ) I'm new in building bows, and any suggestion,critic or advise will be helpfull.  At least I hope you like design...

The bow looks good!
You can try to repair the gluejoints and add fadewedges or powerlams on the belly.
Cover the fades/hinges over to 2-3" and let them run to zero over maybe bout 8".
I thought they would pop but e.g. Kenny told me they won`t....
