A Southwest Pa Bownanza Today
« on: June 23, 2013, 06:07:00 PM »
Black Mockingbird, Trapper Rob, a few other friends and myself had fun today.

Here is Chris hitting on my wife:)

Trapper Robs first BBO.

Chris rasping a selfbow.

Then shaping it on the edge sander which he fell in love with:) I love it too, what a great tool for bow making.

Gluing riser on Denny's grand kids bow.

Looks like a real fine time and I'm jealous of that nice edge sander Roy has.

But I thought Coor's Light was the only beverage allowed in his shop   :dunno:

Art that old fart knows WAY more about bows than I do.  A drive to his house would pay off a lot more than a drive to mine..lol..Almost all of the bamboo info I've passed on to you has come from him.  He might be on the verge of alzheimers but he knows his stuff when it comes to bows..lol  Just kidding Roy that sure does look like a great time though.  Some great looking bows for sure

That's the most tea I ever drank in one day, I had one. LMAO:)

I stayed off the beer till Trapper Rob got his bow done on the tillering tree. That was at noon at lunch, then they went down smooth. There was a lot of dust flying around with 4 guys sanding on their bows, but the air cleaner and the Coors light really helped out:)

Rob gave me 2 farrier rasps and I decided to soak them in vinegar to clean them up. My first little aluminum foil container sprung a leak, so I had to get another piece under it quickly. You would think Chris would have put the camera down faster to help me out, but NO not Chris, LOL.
