Best type of bow rack?
« on: February 07, 2007, 03:15:00 PM »
I was on another site yesterday and saw a thread about making bow racks for hanging your bows. I noticed that most were hung unstrung with dowels below the limbs (horizontally) or they were hung vertically by the tip (inserted into v-groove).

What is the best way to hang a bow?

I leave mine strung and hang by the string (horizontally). I was told this was the best way to avoid limb twist.

Just curios as I will be finishing my basement soon and will be making a couple racks to hang my bows from.

well two basic ways.  i either hang mine horizontal with LEVEL pegs in the wall splitting the lenght of the bow into 3rds.  my hunting bow i usually hang unstrung on another peg verticaly from under the string.
